Bus:  Bus system in Rio is kind of complicated, the busses have their final destination written on the top and the route that it goes to get to the final destination is difficult even for locals that sometimes have to ask the driver if the bus stops at the desired point.  The entrance is on the front and the drivers think they’re formula 1 pilots, so hold on tight! Besides that are often reports of robberies in busses.

Taxis: Taxis run on meters and most are reliable, the only problem is that 99% of the taxi drivers only speak Portuguese and don’t have a previous guiding formal education, mostly not giving reliable information on the visited spots.

Organized Tours:  Most of the organized tours are done on non private basis, that means you’ll seat in a bus for up to 44 people with most different nationalities, and spend most of your time passing by a lot of hotels to pick up more tourists before the tour really starts. In most cases the guide will give the information in English, Spanish and Portuguese thus making their speech as short as possible.

Costs: 08hour tour R$270,00 (135USD) per person.
